The Vampire Diaries 4/28/11

Hey Junkies!!

I must say this TVD episode was the most thrilling. Everyone came back...including the werewolves.

It opened with Damon staring at the ceiling in his room, eavesdropping on Stefan, Elijah, and Elena's conversation about the Full Moon to kill Klaus. Elijah tells them that they need the moonstone, Elena, and a special elixir concocted by Elijah to kill Klaus. Damon gets pissed that they don't listen to him.

Next, we move to the Lockwood mansion with Klaus's witch "throwing" Mrs. Lockwood down the stairs. Back at Elena's new house, Damon and Stefan contemplate Elena's decision, Damon practically begs Stefan to stop being so naive. Then at the hospital, Tyler returns to see his newly bruised mother. Sheriff Forbes tries to get Matt to realize that Caroline is evil because she is a vampire.

Returning to the Salvatore-Gilbert home, Elena tries to cheer Damon up. She tells him that everything that will happen later on will be fine. Damon still feels like he can't lose her, even though their not dating. When she tries to walk out, Damon gives her his blood (scary). Stefan comes to save the day and he gets pissed all over again. Damon stakes Stefan and everyone is emotionally hurt except Elijah, who still hates Damon. Elijah tells him that he doesn't get it. Jenna and Alaric are happily back together and once again, Stefan whisks Elena off. Tyler and Jules, lady wolf, rush out of the hospital and are stopped by Caroline. Caroline seems confused that he's "back"-ish but stays composed until she hears him say that he has to leave again. Caroline and Tyler get attacked by man-witch and Greta and leave the hospital.

Klaus meets Alaric and Damon at the Grill and taunts them. Of course, he is hot as ever and Damon tries to get Klaus to postpone the Sacrifice, but it failed. Damon and Alaric still try and buy Elena more time for the Sacrifice and so Alaric willingly agrees to help Damon "screw it up", the Sacrifice that is. We then move to a forest where Elena and Stefan take a walk to a waterfall. Stefan is concerned about her and her feelings, so they climb to the top. At Alaric's, Damon gets in and talks to Katherine. Katherine tells him that  Klaus has Caroline and Tyler and so he makes his way to the Tomb. At the Tomb, Caroline tells Tyler that they were at the hand of Klaus, of whom he doesn't know. We return to the waterfall and Stefan tells Elena the good and bad things of being a vampire, which she will become thanks to Damon. Stefan seems okay with it, but honestly he's scared for her. Klaus returns to Alaric's and tortures Katherine by making her stand in the sunlight.

Damon continues on his way to the Tomb and he encounters man-witch, who Matt kills (yes, Matt). Damon takes the rifle Matt used to kill man-witch to knock him out. Caroline continues to educate Tyler on the Sacrifice and Klaus. Tyler tells Caroline that Jules has been helping him out. Caroline wonders why Tyler left and he says that it was because he knew she hated him. Damon lets them both free and lets Tyler get ready for the Full Moon. At the waterfall, Stefan and Elena talk about Elena becoming a vampire and finally Stefan lets her know that he wants to be with her forever. Elena is still scared of what she's going to become and that she will never be able to have a normal future. She doesn't want to be a vampire and begins to cry, something she does well. Then, Caroline finds Matt and the Full Moon is already so Tyler begins to freak. Back at the Salvatore-Gilbert house, Elena is thankful for the day and they both see Klaus. Stefan gets freaked that Elena is going to die and they make out for a good two seconds and she tells him to close his eyes so that he doesn't see her leave. He enters the house and he tells Damon that Elena has already gone. Tyler begins to wolf out and they leave. Klaus goes back to Alaric's and Damon barges in and begins to provoke Klaus. Damon sees the video of Jules in the Tomb and he is hardly moved. Klaus tells Damon that he knew that something was going to go wrong so he had backups: "backup witch, backup werewolf, and backup vampire".

Caroline and Matt go to the cellar where Tyler used to tie himself down. Katherine tells Damon that she called someone. Greta takes Elena to see Jenna who was in transition to becoming a vampire and now Damon has a wolf bite = Damon's death.

The next episode, Junkies, will be the actual sacrifice and the epic episode....stay tuned!

The Vampire Diaries 4/21/11

Hey Junkies!!

This week's TVD episode was called "Klaus" and that's exactly who it's about, Klaus. It started out with Elijah waking up in the cell and Elena realizes he can no longer enter the "Salvatore" house because it does not belong to them anymore. The boys figure out that Elena let Elijah free and then we move out of that scene and into Alaric's apartment.

The old Klaus...
Klaus has still been tormenting Katherine and so she feeds his need for information. Back to the Elijah and Elena situation, Elijah can finally trust Elena and vise versa to where Elena's promises to not attempt to kill him and gives him the dagger. She informs him about the fact that Klaus is back in town and then we move into the first major flashback to 1492. We first meet Klaus in his regular, original form who, might I say, is sexy!!!

Elijah and Elena visit the Lockwood mansion and Elijah changes into Mr. Lockwood's suits after compelling Mrs. Lockwood into doing so. Jenna calls Stefan and he goes to the Gilbert house. Back to the Lockwood mansion, Elijah and Elena talk about things that occurred since Elijah died. Then we find out that Elijah and Klaus are brothers, that's right, brothers. Damon and Andy, Damon's girlfriend, visit Katherine at Alaric's apartment just to see what she looks like. Stefan arrives at the Gilbert house and to his surprise "Alaric" is already there.

Spooky...
Back at the Lockwood mansion, Elijah tells Elena that his family, that's Klaus's family too, is a whole pack of originals. At Alaric's, Damon gives Katherine Vervain to protect her from further compulsion, then Andy and Damon leave. At the Gilbert's, "Alaric" drops the bomb that vampires are a part of history. Jenna doesn't believe any of it but continues to listen. Then, at the Lockwood mansion still, Elijah tells Elena that to them, the Sun and the Moon Curse is "quite biblical" because Klaus was the one who made it up and it does not exist under that name as well as that it is not Aztec.

At the Gilbert's, Stefan takes all his anger out on "Alaric" and reveals to Jenna that there is something supernatural about him. After puncturing "Alaric"'s neck and punching and kicking him a few times, Stefan storms out at vampire speed (ooh). Still talking about the "Sun and the Moon Curse", Elijah reveals that the curse is actually one put on Klaus. Getting a call from Stefan, Elena goes home in haste for Jenna's protection.
Poor Jenna...

In a flashback, we realize that Elijah had small feeling for the then Katerina and that Klaus is a serious douche bag. Elena tells Jenna things about vampires and now she is "in the loop". She still feels betrayed but forgives Elena for everything and is now scared to death (probably of Stefan).

Elena puts Jenna to bed because Jenna is in serious shock. She then returns to Elijah. We then see Katherine on a drunk brigade and was silenced when "Alaric" walked in. Klaus's warlock brought back Greta, Luca's sister, and a new body for him to transfer into. At the Lockwood's again, Elena finds out that way back in the 15th century, Klaus's mother was unfaithful and had a child (Klaus) with another man who happened to be from a werewolf line which made him a hybrid. This means that Klaus is both a vampire (from his mother) and a werewolf (from his father) and he was the one who suffered the most from the "Sun and the Moon Curse". It also means that Klaus is the most dangerous thing out there. We realize that at the full moon Klaus will be the most vulnerable and can be killed then if a witch (like Bonnie) has the ability to channel enough power. Also, before Elena would've had to die before Klaus could die but Elijah found a way to spare her (yay!).

They always listen to Elena
Additionally, though small, we see that Damon and Stefan are having a small issue. But, who cares, right? In the end, the two of them duke it out in a nice brawl. Damon is now found to be seriously upset and not on anyone's side. He actually sheds tears.

At the conclusion of the show, Greta and Klaus's warlock end up transferring Klaus into his old, hot body from the 1500s and is now on a rampage like before.

Stay tuned for The Vampire Diaries on 4/27/11 titled "The Last Day", though in the preview the show is just reaching a climax...it's not the end...not yet, anyway.

The Vampire Diaries 4/14/11

Hey Junkies!!

Okay, so I'm gonna try and be diligent with my posting now, but no guarantees! Last week's TVD episode was titled "The Last Dance" which, to me, seemed to imply some kind of goodbye to either the season or the show in its entirety. Before, I used to just give recaps of The Vampire Diaries, but now I have a new and better idea. I've decided to give you Junkies more of what you want: criticism. Good criticism, bad criticism, whatever I feel about the certain things of each episode. So, in order to apply this new strategy, I must go about a different route when blogging about TVD. Of course I would so NOT share what that is because you could try and steal my thunder but for now, enjoy Junkies!!

Alright, here's how things went. You guys remember the week before last (4/7) how "Alaric", who is now Klaus, and this random warlock captured Katherine? Well, that's how this episode begins, in Alaric's, the real one, apartment with Katherine in a chair telling Klaus all she knows. This was just a wee bit creepy with Klaus searching through all of Alaric's stuff and feeling that his choice in clothes is quite like Safari Sam (whoever he is) because Klaus seemed to put on the facade of some investigator who needed to get a job done. Anyway, after Katherine tells Klaus stuff, he tells her to stab herself when she gets bored, something quite graphic but what Katherine deserved for being such a, well you know what I mean.

Ouch...ha, ha Katherine

Next on tap for this episode was the official handing over of the Salvatore home though I thought it would have been something worth celebrating....oh, well. It's not worth discussing right now so, moving on! In the small scene of Elena signing the special document, Stefan and Damon discuss Bonnie's ability to take on Klaus when he arrives. Typical, always so judgy those Salvatore boys. Then, they start playing Daddy Dearest by being all overprotective when Bonnie and Elena say that their going to school (WTF, it's just school), claiming that they meant for the safe-house, that's what Elena's new house is, to be just that, safe (boys!).

Now, more of the annoying part of the development of this series was that Matt and Sheriff Forbes are in on the whole Caroline-being-a-vampire deal. Matt just shows up at the Forbes' house and asks for vampire advice from the Sheriff. Really, Matt? It's just as hard for you to get used to the idea of Caroline being a vampire as it is for her own mother. But instead, he just insists on asking her for what to do and to my surprise, Sheriff Forbes tells him to lie, to pretend he actually forgot about the full, long conversation he and Caroline had about her new condition and everything that happened way back then (season 1 for us). And so, the Sheriff has Matt take Caroline to the 60s Decade Dance at school (deja vu much? Maybe episode 112 "Unpleasantville"?).

So now with Klaus being Alaric, "Alaric" walks into his American History class late and looks like he is incredibly stunned to see Elena sitting in the back with Stefan and Bonnie. He fumbles over when Watergate occurred and said it was in the 60s, what they were learning due to the dance, which made Elena correct him when it was actually in the 70s.

Then there was the planning of the dance, Matt and Caroline "reconnecting", and of course Jeremy trying to talk Bonnie out of risking her life for Elena. This new chick Dana, not an actual legit character, was compelled by Klaus to scare Elena about the fact that he will be at the dance and will want the last dance. Planning for his arrival, Stefan, Damon, Elena, Bonnie, and "Alaric" talk about the plan of attack for the dance when Klaus shows.

Back at Alaric's apartment, Klaus, Katherine, and Klaus's warlock discuss how to protect Klaus from Bonnie, as she is quite freakin' powerful from summoning all of that power. Mr. Warlock states that he can put a protective spell over Klaus to protect him from any blow that Bonnie may attempt to give. Of course Klaus agrees because underneath all of that badass act, he is seriously afraid that he could die or get hurt by Bonnie's powers.

Matt goes to pick up Caroline from her house to take to the dance and stuff. Blah, blah, blah...not all that important. Neither is Elena's not-so-dream about Klaus being real, or everyone arriving at the dance and partying, or Dana, still compelled, making a lame shout-out to Elena from Klaus.

Jeremy takes a walk into the hallway upset about the upcoming events. Stefan, being overprotective, follows him out there and gets him to say what's on his mind, the fact that Bonnie is being suicidal. So Stefan tells Elena and she has a talk with Bonnie. Meanwhile, Jeremy continues to walk in the halls and is jumped by a couple of guys that Klaus compelled to distract everyone. His plan working out successfully, "Alaric" takes Bonnie and Elena into the halls to provoke them. Getting what he deserved, Klaus get blown back painfully into glass, which doesn't hurt him by the way, after the girls figure out his real identity.

Yeah, see. That's what you get for messing with Bonnie.

Bonnie tracks Klaus down into the cafeteria and battles him once and for all which does not end well. After much hard work, Bonnie ends up dead and Klaus remains in glory, feeling empowered.

Damon explains to Jeremy what went on after they saved him from getting jumped and they venture back to the burning site of the witches. Elena feels regretful and Stefan tries to cheer her up but she continues to cry. Damon walks in and Elena is pissed at him and interrogates him about if he knew Bonnie would've had to die for the plan to go on. Damon agrees that he knew and he gets a nice slap in the face, one that he has been much needed since the beginning of this season.
But, in the end it was just a part of Damon and Bonnie's plan to make Klaus believe that she was dead. So, Bonnie's really alive and Elena, being quite the rebel, pulls out the dagger from inside Elijah, who was stored in the basement, and waits for him to come back.

Well, next episode, tomorrow's (4/21) is called "Klaus" and guess who it's about?

Later Junkies!

Update!! PLUS Vampire Diaries 4/7/11

Hey Junkies!!

Sorry about how I haven't posted since December of last year, but I wanted to update you guys on The Vampire Diaries from last week, titled "Know Thy Enemy".

That was the episode where Elena's mother, Isobel, returned to Mystic Falls and, unbeknownst to the clan (Jeremy, Stefan, Damon, Elena, Bonnie, Caroline, Alaric) was compelled to get Katherine with Klaus to break the "Sun and the Moon Curse". However, prior to this Damon killed Elijah with a special dagger dipped in White Oak ash which set Katherine free from the tomb which led to this.

Here's the basic breakdown:

  1.  Jenna lets Isobel in the house but storms out pissed at Elena and Alaric for lying about Isobel's "death".
  2. Katherine tries to persuade the Salvatore brothers in avoiding confronting Isobel about her being out of the tomb.
  3.  John, after getting a nice punch in the face, and Isobel have a chat with Elena and Stefan about Isobel's true intentions of returning as well as Klaus's plan.
  4.  Damon takes Bonnie and Jeremy to the witches' burning site. (FYI: Luca and his father are dead and Bonnie is basically the only good witch in town again.)
  5.  Isobel and Katherine talk about what would happen to her (Katherine) due to Klaus's supposed return.
  6. Elena, accompanied by Stefan, goes to accept an award in her mother's honor and the Lockwood banquet but is captured by Isobel after she causes a diversion.
  7. Katherine gets the moonstone and gives it to Isobel.
  8. Isobel takes Elena to her grave, the one placed by her parents when she was "dead", and apologized deeply for her actions.
  9. Isobel kills herself, by taking off her lapis lazuli necklace and Elena regrets her actions towards her.
  10. John, killed in the diversion, wakes up thanks to his ring and Elena allows him to stay.
  11. Stefan and Damon sign their home over to Elena so that she will be safe and can protect herself from any vampires that could possibly enter the house.
  12. Alaric and Katherine are captured by Klaus' warlock and Klaus is transferred to stay in Alaric's body.
Sorry again, junkies for not updating but hope you continue to read!
